Job summary

Union Pacific Corporation is hiring a Mechanical Service Operator in Denver, CO. You will support locomotive operations by stocking materials, cleaning units, and assisting hostlers to move locomotives between shop areas.

The role requires adherence to safety protocols and active communication with the team. The position demands basic mechanical knowledge, physical capability to work around large equipment, and a willingness to work various shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver7s license.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a shift environment.
• Proficient in basic arithmetic and able to read instructions.
• Willingness to undergo safety training and pass required assessments (PAT).

Responsibilities

• Operate locomotives to move them between shop locations, service tracks, and switching areas.
• Restock locomotives with materials and keep areas stocked and clean.
• Inspect equipment and materials for defects or hazards and ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness of locomotive interiors and exteriors and document issues.
• Communicate with team members using radios and signals.
