Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking an Engineering Technical Leader to develop and integrate Ethernet networks for locomotive control. You will bridge network architecture, control behavior, and validation to ensure robust data exchange across distributed controllers, including supervisory, propulsion, engine, and I/O modules.

The role requires MBSE proficiency, hands-on validation in lab and locomotive environments, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with networked control systems and Ethernet-based networking.
• System integration and/or system validation experience.
• Familiarity with MBSE, SysML, and INCOSE best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the control system network architecture, data flows, protocols, bandwidth, timing, and redundancy.
• Own integration of distributed control nodes across locomotive networks.
• Evaluate network impacts of features, software updates, and hardware changes.
• Develop and execute network-centric system integration test plans (SIL, HIL, lab, on‑locomotive).
• Validate network performance for latency, jitter, throughput, synchronization, availability.
• Investigate cross-system communication issues and fault recovery behavior.
• Collaborate to ensure consistent interface definitions and assumptions.
