Job summary

Wabtec Corporation invites a Senior Engineer to lead the architecture, development, and validation of locomotive communication networks across freight, transit, hybrid, and battery‑electric platforms.

You will collaborate with customers, suppliers, systems/software/cybersecurity teams, and manufacturing to deliver robust network designs and secure product introductions that enhance reliability and safety.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
10+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years Ethernet network design.
Experience with Layer 2/3 network switches and network architecture.
Knowledge of networks, controls, software integration, and cybersecurity; controls or software dev preferred.

Responsibilities

Architect and develop locomotive Serial, Ethernet, and ARCNET networks.
Lead network design activities for NPI programs and upgrades.
Develop network requirements, standards, and validation methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate locomotive control systems and networks.
Support cybersecurity by applying secure network design principles.
Troubleshoot field and lab issues with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Provide technical guidance and communicate program status to stakeholders.
Support next‑generation locomotive technologies, including battery-electric and transit apps.
