Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Materials Specialist to join the Field Service Americas team. This onsite role at the customer facility focuses on ensuring maintenance materials are available for locomotive repairs and routine operations.

You will be trained in our parts and logistics processes and become certified in materials management for state-of-the-art locomotives. Daily duties include issuing materials, managing stock, performing inventory counts, forecasting needs, handling shipments,

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED or 1–3 years of relevant work history.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability and willingness to lift approximately 35 lbs regularly.
• Successful prior experience in logistics, shipping/receiving.
• Experience safely operating forklifts and shop equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability.
• Must be able to work in warehouse/heavy shop environment.
• Willingness for flexible shifts and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pull material from warehouse for shop use and issue to the correct locomotive with complete documentation.
• Monitor stockouts weekly and obtain updated ETAs for out-of-stock parts.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory.
• Forecast material needs for inbound and in-shop locomotives.
• Conduct quality checks on inbound/outbound shipments and resolve delays.
• Arrange LTL/Expedite shipments with proper paperwork and Bills of Lading.
