BNSF Railway in Barstow, CA, is hiring for a Mechanical Shop Laborer. The role supports skilled mechanics with locomotive and equipment maintenance, ensuring safe and reliable railroad operations. The position is full-time, union-governed, with 24/7 shop coverage and on-the-job training.

Annual pay ranges from $61,351 to $76,689, paid hourly between $29.50 and $36.87. Travel is minimal; relocation is not offered. Training is company-paid and safety is a core value throughout daily duties.

Qualifications

• Able to work now and in the future without employer sponsorship.
• At least 18 years old by start date.
• Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Ability to report for duty at the designated work location.
• Able to work safely in the above working conditions.
• Able to work the shift/hours.
• English reading/writing and communication.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Color vision (red, blue, green, yellow).
• Able to use hand tools and climb ladders.

Responsabilités

• Keep work areas clean and orderly and operate maintenance equipment in a shop environment.
• Operate forklift, mobile crane, track mobile, shop tractor, and power hand tools.
• Sand, fueling, and cleaning locomotives and organizing shop areas.
• Operate power-driven equipment like a vacuum or steam cleaner.
• Work in safety-sensitive environments with varied weather conditions and moving machinery.
• Adhere to safety rules and wear PPE as required.
