Job summary

Amtrak in Florida seeks a locomotive technician to inspect, test and maintain locomotives and rolling stock in accordance with FRA and Amtrak standards. You will work across propulsion systems, braking and related components with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, replacing mechanical equipment.
• Welding and cutting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain locomotive diesel engines per 49 CFR and Amtrak standards.
• Repair drive systems, wheels, suspension, and propulsion components.
• Diagnose and repair air systems and air brake equipment.
• Perform preventative locomotive maintenance and troubleshooting.
