Job summary

Walgreens Co. is seeking a Pharmacist-lead to oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department in a clinic setting.

You will manage workflow, ensure accurate filling and verification of prescriptions, and drive quality and compliance across all activities affecting patients, providers, and payers. Responsibilities include labor and asset management, third-party billing optimization, and maintaining records while upholding regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institute.
• Current pharmacist license in the states within the district (or willing to obtain in 1 year) per district guidelines.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance.
• Has completed specialized training regarding medication and disease state or has sufficient practical experience that is necessary to provide specialized services offered at clinic location (HIV, Organ Transplant, Oncology, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the pharmacy department.
• Improve prescription numbers, pharmacy sales, profit, and image through accurate filling and courteous service to customers.
• Report prescription errors and adhere to Quality Improvement Program policies.
• Comply with federal and state laws and Company policies governing drugs and products; maintain required records and reports.
• Recommend and implement asset protection controls to minimize profit loss.
• Maintain pharmacy department housekeeping, maintenance, and appearance for safety and compliance.
• Manage third-party pharmacy business opportunities and resolve third-party rejection problems promptly.
• Supervise staff to ensure licensure and proper training related to payer and pharmaceutical contracts.
