Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Operations leader to oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department, drive workflow and clinical management, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and maintain strong customer service to patients and providers.

The role focuses on oversight of prescription filling, department assets, inventory, and collaboration with payers, health systems, and physicians. Strong licensure and at least 1 year of pharmacy experience required.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited educational institute.
• Current pharmacist license in the states within the district (or willing to obtain in 1 year) per district guidelines.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance.
• Has completed specialized training regarding medication and disease state or has sufficient practical experience that is necessary to provide specialized services offered at clinic location (HIV, Organ Transplant, Oncology, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Customer Experience: Ensures department personnel provide hospitable service and information; are courteous, friendly, and efficient.
• Customer Experience: Responds to customer inquiries and complaints, maintains and improves overall image of pharmacy department.
• Operations: Manages the daily operation of the pharmacy department.
• Operations: Improves prescription numbers, pharmacy sales, profit, and image through accurate filling of prescriptions and courteous service to patients and providers.
• Operations: Reports prescription errors immediately and adheres to Quality Improvement Program.
• Operations: Complies with all federal and state laws and Company policies governing all drugs and products; maintains records and reports.
• Operations: Recommends and implements asset protection controls and procedures to identify and minimize profit loss.
• Operations: Improves and maintains department housekeeping, safety, and appearance; adheres to government regulations.
• Operations: Manages cash handling, daily cash reports, and related bank operations.
• Operations: Maintains operation of pharmacy systems and equipment.
• Operations: Manages third party pharmacy business opportunities and resolves third party rejection problems promptly.
• Operations: Manages and controls Prescription Department inventory and adheres to buying procedures.
• People and Performance Management: Supervises pharmacy department team members to assure performance and licensure compliance.
• Training and Personal Development: Audits own performance and sets objectives and standards.
• Training and Personal Development: Maintains awareness of developments in pharmacy and retail management fields and integrates them into practices.
• Communications: Maintains good working relationships with physicians and other health professionals.
