Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a safety-focused Tanker Operator to transport cement from terminals to SRM plants. Class A CDL required, with 2+ years of tanker experience and a clean driving record.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, complete logs per DOT regulations, coordinate with dispatch, and ensure secure loading/unloading at delivery sites. SRM offers local/regional routes with home time, competitive hourly pay, and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement (helpful but not required).
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience driving Class A tanker trucks.
• Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for material transport.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Excellent time management to meet delivery schedules.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with plant personnel and customers.
• Willingness to undergo SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
• Positive, go-getter attitude and commitment to SRM’s 5 Principles of Service: Safety, Quality, Kindness, Cleanliness, and Go-Getter.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from terminals to SRM Concrete plant locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Accurately complete logs, delivery documentation, and required paperwork per DOT regulations.
• Communicate with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide route progress updates.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of cement, preventing spillage or contamination.
• Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting materials.
• Provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites, representing SRM Concrete professionally.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations promptly.
• Stay current on safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
