Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a Tanker Operator to safely transport cement from terminals to concrete plants. You will perform inspections, complete documentation, and maintain clear communication with dispatch. A Class A CDL with a DOT medical card and 2 years of tanker experience are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Tanker endorsement is helpful but not required.
• Current DOT Medical Card is required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience driving Class A tanker trucks.
• Clean driving record for last 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regs & safety standards for materials transport.
• Physically able to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Excellent time management to meet delivery schedules.
• Good communication with plant personnel and customers.
• Willingness to undergo SRM pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck transporting cement to SRM plant locations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections for safety and compliance.
• Complete delivery paperwork and logs per company policies and DOT rules.
• Communicate with dispatch for delivery instructions and route updates.
• Ensure secure loading/unloading to prevent spills or contamination.
• Follow routes, schedules, and safety procedures for material transport.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery sites.
