Job summary

The Library of Virginia is seeking a Local Records Archivist to lead the identification, preservation, and accessibility of Virginia's local government records, including chancery and court records from the Circuit Courts. This role arranges and describes complex historical documents, develops electronic finding aids, and promotes public access through outreach and education.

Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of state and local history and legal processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on database management and the ability to learn new applications quickly.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, arrange, and describe collections accurately.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. History, Library and Information Science or related field.
