Job summary
The Library of Virginia seeks a Born-Digital Collections Coordinator to lead agency-wide planning and technical management of born-digital government and manuscript records. Working within the Digital Initiatives & Web Services division, you will shape policies, procedures, and tools to ensure sustainable access for the public.
You will analyze current backlogs, design scalable workflows for transfer, processing, and public access, and serve as administrator for Archive-It and Rosetta.
Qualifications
- Experience with repeatable technical workflows and digital file management at scale.
- Knowledge of legal and professional issues affecting born-digital records.
- Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in policy writing and workflow analysis.
- Formal training in archives administration or related IT is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead agency-wide planning and technical management of born-digital records.
- Develop workflows for transfer, processing, and public access to records.
- Administer Archive-It collections and Rosetta preservation system.
- Collaborate with archivists and librarians on appraisal and processing.
