Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Driver I to join the Shipping and Receiving group at the Middle River, MD site. You will move materials to sustain production across Maryland and Virginia, operate forklifts (when certified), and ensure shipment accuracy.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. Prior forklift certification and shipping/receiving experience are preferred; strong communication and computer skills are a plus. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with no history of suspensions.
• 1+ years’ experience driving company owned vehicles.
• Current Forklift Certification.
• Material handling experience preferred.
• Experience with heavy equipment (sit down and stand up forklifts) preferred.
• Moderate to extensive experience driving large vehicles, such as Sprinter van, 22 foot Box truck, Stake bed.
• Related experience in shipping and receiving preferred.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks.
• Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings to customers and colleagues.
• Ability to operate with American monetary units and measurements.
• Ability to handle variable situations and make good decisions.
• Familiarity with freight carriers like FedEx, UPS, DHL.
• Experience in a customer service environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the security and accountability of materials and goods to and from local partners within 180 miles.
• Ensure materials are available to meet production schedules and/or shipments.
• Establish and modify operational methods and procedures as necessary.
• Distribute materials, parts, supplies, and equipment to Rocket Lab sites and partners.
• Lift heavy items and operate a forklift (when certified).
• Safely deliver and pick up material to local partners and end users.
• Handle hazardous material per company procedures.
• Maintain traceability via ERP system and handheld devices.
• Drive material between Rocket Lab warehouses and partners.
• Track material in Rocket Lab tracking system.
• Communicate delivery status as products travel.
• Assist with urgent requests to meet production/shipping schedules.
• Adhere to driving laws and safety policies.
• Interact with suppliers professionally; maintain relationships.
• Address and resolve pickup/delivery issues promptly.
