Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Red Bluff, CA is seeking an LVN nurse manager to oversee nursing operations and ensure adherence to standards. This leadership role requires experience in long-term care, California licensure, and proficiency with the Point Click Care charting system.

The successful candidate will implement quality initiatives, educate families and patients, and coordinate with physicians to ensure timely administration of medications and treatments in accordance with policies and state

Qualifications

• Must hold an active LVN license in California.
• Compact license preferred for cross-state work.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing management experience.
• Experience in long-term care required.
• Proficiency with Point Click Care charting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for patient placement and monitoring.
• Notifies other departments of patient changes (room changes, LOA, admissions, discharge).
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Administers medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Administers treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Receives, transcribes, and carries out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Job description

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes, i.e., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates ability to receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LVN in state California, if contract is in the state of Califonia. Have a compact license if working in a Compact state.
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred
