Job summary

Henry County Government seeks an attorney to provide research, legal counsel, and guidance to County leadership, the Board of Commissioners, and court judges. The role serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority and requires sound judgment in complex legal matters.

The attorney will conduct legal research, draft opinions and memoranda, offer strategic legal solutions, and respond to Open Records Act requests. Local government experience is preferred and a Georgia license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Juris Doctorate and two years of related legal experience.
• Experience in local government is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts legal research and drafts legal documents and memoranda.
• Provides legal advice, drafts orders and summaries for judges, and briefs on issues.
• Reviews orders, motions, and court calendars for compliance with rules.
