Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A vehicles per DOT regulations and company policies.

Position Summary

Red Baron Transportation is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Local CDL-A Driver to support our operations in New Castle, DE. This position is primarily yard-based and involves moving trailers between the yard and dock locations, as well as occasional short shuttle runs to customer sites to retrieve preloaded trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with all DOT and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Move trailers between the yard and warehouse docks to support daily operations.
• Perform short shuttle runs to customer locations as needed.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Utilize Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and other electronic systems as required.
• Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and transportation documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse teams, customers, and management.
• Ensure all trailers and equipment are handled safely and securely.
• Promptly report maintenance issues, safety concerns, accidents, or delays.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while representing Red Baron Transportation professionally.
• Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
• Minimum of three (3) years of Class A driving experience.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify vehicle maintenance concerns.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules and operational needs.

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay:$24.00 per hour

Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage after 90 days.

Time Off: Paid holidays and PTO available after 90 days.

PPE: Steel-toe boots required; additional PPE provided by BWT Logistics.

Schedule:

• Full-Time.
• Monday through Friday.
• 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
• Home Daily.
• Overtime opportunities available based on business needs.

Equipment:

• 2026 Freightliner.
• Dry Van and Container Equipment.
• No Touch Freight.
• Primarily Yard Operations with Limited Local Shuttle Runs.
