Job summary

Maersk is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to safely transport freight for customers and distribution centers. You will perform inspections, load and secure cargo, maintain logs, and provide professional service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include following DOT rules, communicating with dispatch, and driving in varied conditions. Must have DOT medical certification and English proficiency; pay is $22 hourly with Mon–Fri 8am start times and 70% touch freight.

Qualifications

• Current DOT medical certification is required.
• LTL/City driving experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service, and transportation compliance.
• Ability to safely operate tractor-trailers in varied conditions.
• Ability to accurately complete logs, bills of lading, inspection reports, and records.
• Strong customer service, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to safety, cargo security, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime, extended hours, and flexible schedules.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver freight according to routes, schedules, and customer requirements.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Load, secure, inspect, and protect cargo during transit.
• Follow DOT regulations, hours-of-service, traffic laws, and company policies.
• Maintain logs, delivery documents, bills of lading, and inspection reports.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, delays, deliveries, and vehicle issues.
• Maneuver trucks at loading docks, yards, and customer locations.
• Report accidents, violations, and mechanical problems promptly.
• Keep vehicle and work area clean and professional.
• Provide courteous, professional service to customers and partners.
• Assist with loading/unloading freight when required.
