Job summary

US 1 Shorthaul is hiring CDL A yard spotter and local shuttle drivers for the Plainfield, IN area. This full-time role offers steady home-daily work and a safety-focused culture with competitive pay.

The position requires CDL A, 18+ months of verifiable over-the-road experience, and the ability to operate a CMV on public roads. Overtime, benefits, and regular hauling duties are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of over-the-road experience in the past 5 years, with 12 months in the past 3 years.
• Experience backing 48' to 53' trailers in tight spaces and to dock doors.
• Must pass pre-hire background and drug test per FMCSA rules.
• DOT compliance obligations including medical card and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers in and out of dock with yard goats.
• Safely maneuver truck and trailer in busy environments.
• Inspect equipment for faults or damages.
• Ensure compliance with weight restrictions and guidelines.
• Submit reports on truck conditions and produce activity logs.
• Identify workplace safety hazards and follow safety procedures.
