Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver with a Class B CDL to safely operate a collection truck and serve customers on assigned routes. The role emphasizes adherence to safety standards, timely service, and accurate reporting of vehicle and route information.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order.
• Safely operate heavy collection truck along assigned route and service each customer per route sheet.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse, run the compactor, and dispose of material at designated facility.
• Interact with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers as required.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and respond to spills per safety standards.
• Maintain vehicle readiness; clean waste from packer blade and truck body on disposal trips.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets and VCRs; adhere to productivity standards.
