Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver with a Class B CDL to safely operate a collection truck and deliver prompt, courteous waste removal services. The role requires ensuring vehicle compliance with safety standards and completing daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects.

You will perform route service, read route sheets, load refuse, and maintain professional interactions with customers and dispatchers while adhering to all safety policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluids, safety equipment and gauges are in proper working order.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or by dispatcher.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor and dispose of material at the facility.
• Interact with customers, dispatchers and others to ensure routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers accordingly.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable waste and maintain vehicle readiness to minimize downtime.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports.
