Job summary

Saia LTL Freight is hiring a professional driver to move freight between company terminals and customer sites within a defined region. You will ensure on-time deliveries, proper handling, and cost efficiency while adhering to safety procedures.

The role offers competitive pay ($33.75–$38.50/hr) with benefits including health, dental, life, disability, 401(k) with match, holiday pay, and paid time off. Candidates must hold a valid Class A CDL with hazmat, tanker, and twin trailer endorsements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A CDL with hazmat, tanker, and twin trailer endorsements.
• At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
• No DUI, DWI, or license suspension for moving violations within the past 3 years.
• No chargeable accidents or serious traffic violations within the past 6 months.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language to perform job tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drives tractor trailers to deliver and pick up customer freight.
• Sorts, handles, loads, and unloads freight at various company and customer locations.
• Plans routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
• Follows established pre-trip, post-trip, freight handling, and billing procedures.
• Conducts inspections by following safety and quality control procedures.
• Retains and maintains records, forms, and load-related paperwork.
• Serves as the first point-of-contact for delivery-related issues.
