Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks a CDL driver to safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials from customer sites to designated facilities in the Santa Clara, CA area. You will inspect vehicles, review shipment paperwork, and ensure DOT compliance.

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement, prior commercial driving experience, and strong teamwork and communication. Veolia offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations pertaining to the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Time management and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of vehicle and/or trailer prior to driving to ensure safety and integrity.
• Review shipment records, manifests, labeling, placards and container integrity before transport.
• Drive locally, ensuring DOT requirements and paperwork are current.
• Consult with customers on load conditions and paperwork to ensure proper transport.
• Notify supervisor of moving violations and/or accidents in-route.
• Assist in loading/unloading and housekeeping as required; other duties as assigned.
