Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a licensed CDL driver to safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials from customer sites to designated facilities using various equipment. Candidates must ensure DOT compliance, inspect paperwork, and maintain permits for all travel.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Prior commercial driving experience required.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations pertaining to hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal/communication skills.
• Excellent time management and customer service orientation.
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of vehicle and trailer to ensure safety and equipment integrity before operation.
• Review shipment records, manifests, labels and paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure DOT requirements such as load weight limits and driver logs are current and compliant.
• Consult with customers regarding load conditions and paperwork to ensure proper transport to designated sites.
• Notify supervisor of any violations or accidents en route or at sites.
• Assist with loading/unloading at sites using appropriate equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping and perform other duties as assigned.
