Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a professional Class A CDL driver to operate tractor/trailers, comply with FMCSA regulations, and transport freight safely. The role includes pre-trip/post-trip inspections, hazardous materials handling, and potential dock work depending on daily needs.

You will maintain records, report issues, and may use in-cab technology. Candidates must meet FMCSA requirements, pass drug screens, and be able to lift ~70 lbs. Authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• 21 years of age required per FMCSA regulations (1 year driving experience)
• Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Must reside within 75 miles of the domiciled Service Center and/or work assignment
• HazMat, Tanker and Doubles endorsements required
• Must be able to drive a tractor trailer per FMCSA requirements
• Must be able to push/pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck (70 lbs)
• Must pass FMCSA medical exam and road test
• Ability to meet FMCSA English reading/speaking requirements
• Must lift approx. 70 lbs.
• Must drive all routes in varied terrains and conditions
• Must operate safety and vehicle functions as required
• Must comply with company policies and code of conduct
• Must interact well with others and work independently
• Must handle tight deadlines in high-volume environments
• Pre-employment drug screen and background checks required
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Operate all types of equipment and perform safety functions
• Drive tractor/trailer in accordance with FMCSA regulations
• Maintain records in compliance with regulations
• Transport hazardous materials safely
• Inspect vehicle pre-trip and post-trip to ensure safe conditions
• Report maintenance issues to Fleet Services or supervision
• Possess and use in-cab technology when needed
• Potentially dock load/unload freight as required
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers
• Attend to additional duties as required by business needs
