Job summary

Lakeshore Recycling Systems in Michigan is seeking a Commercial Driver to operate heavy-duty trucks for local waste and recycling pickups. You will navigate traffic, perform inspections, and ensure containers are properly managed and left clean at each site.

The role requires a valid Class B CDL, a current DOT medical card, and the ability to read and speak English. Local travel only; no sponsorship. Compensation is $27 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred.
• Valid Class B CDL required.
• DOT medical card required.
• US work authorization without sponsorship.
• No DUI/OUI in last 5 years; no license suspensions in last 2 years.
• No more than 3 moving violations in the last 2 years.
• Must read and speak English well to understand directions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty trucks for waste and recycling pickups on local routes.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document checks.
• Report unsafe situations to Route Manager or Dispatch.
• Attend required training programs and meetings.
• Assist in improving route efficiencies and best practices.
• Notify Route Manager of incidents, service interruptions, or safety hazards.
• Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
• Ensure containers are dumped, lids closed, and area left clean.
• Complete end-of-day documentation and tickets when needed.
• Support other drivers to meet customer needs.
