Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a Local CDL-A Intermodal Driver to work in a local intermodal account with daily home time and consistent nighttime work. Earn additional income via exception pay, a safety bonus, and optional extra shifts based on freight volume.

Position features a $5,000 sign-on bonus, holiday pay after 90 days, and a safety bonus up to $1,000/year, with about 50% drop & hook and 50% live freight, averaging ~1,175 miles weekly.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A required.
• Minimum 3 months verifiable CDL-A experience.
• Must be comfortable with overnight/night shift.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• No SAP Drivers.

Responsibilities

• Local intermodal container freight handling.
• Approximately 1,175 miles per week.
• 50% drop & hook, 50% live freight.
• Intermodal chassis/container freight.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: $1,550-$1,650
• New hires average $1,450/week during the first 3-6 months
• $5,000 Bonus
• Safety Bonus: up to $1,000/year
• Exception pay for detention, breakdowns, rail delays, empty moves, and more
• Holiday pay after 90 days for 6 major holidays

• Local intermodal container freight
• Approximately 1,175 miles per week

Shift Details

• Tuesday-Saturday
• 7:00 PM start
• Approximately 50 hours per week
• Typically 10-hour days
• Additional hours may occasionally be required
• Extra workdays available based on freight volume
• Daily home time

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable CDL-A experience
• First Seat / Experienced Driver
• Clean driving record
• DOT Medical Card
• No SAP Drivers
• Must be comfortable working overnight
• Must be willing to slip-seat when required
• Must follow the no-smoking policy inside the truck
