Job summary

Salt City Trucking is hiring a Local CDL-A Intermodal Driver for a home-daily schedule with consistent nighttime work and steady freight. Expect about 1,175 miles weekly, a 50/50 mix of drop & hook and live freight, and potential Hazmat certification reimbursement.

Earn a $5,000 sign-on bonus plus safety bonuses up to $1,000 per year and additional pay for detention, breakdowns, and other exception work. PTO accrues; 6 holidays paid after probation may apply.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A with hazmat preferred (optional).
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable CDL-A experience.
• Clean driving record and DOT Medical Card.

Responsibilities

• Local intermodal container freight with approx. 1,175 miles per week.
• 50% drop & hook / 50% live freight; intermodal chassis/container freight.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: $1,600-$1,700
• New hires average $1,403/week during the first 3-6 months
• $5,000 Bonus
• Safety Bonus: up to $1,000/year
• Exception pay for detention, breakdowns, rail delays, empty moves, and more
• Holiday pay after 90 days for 6 major holidays

Shift Details

• Tuesday-Saturday
• 7:00 PM start
• Approximately 50 hours per week
• Typically 10-hour days
• Additional hours may occasionally be required
• Extra workdays available based on freight volume

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable CDL-A experience
• First Seat / Experienced Driver
• Clean driving record
• DOT Medical Card
• No SAP Drivers
• Must be comfortable working overnight
• Must be willing to slip-seat when required
• Must follow the no-smoking policy inside the truck
