Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Local P&D or City Driver to move freight between service centers and customer locations. You will sort, load, and unload cargo while adhering to DOT regulations and safety standards.

The role requires a Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements and at least 12 months of tractor-trailer experience. OD offers tuition reimbursement and a strong benefits package as part of a commitment to team development.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak English and perform basic math.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL with required endorsements.
• Must have 12 months tractor-trailer driving experience or completed OD training program.
• Must pass DOT medical, drug and alcohol tests and orientation.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations safely per DOT rules.
• Load/unload freight and use pallets, straps, and equipment.
• Read shipping labels and complete required freight documents.
• Maintain compliance with safety, hours-of-service, and inspection standards.
