Job summary

Estes Express is seeking a skilled CDL-A truck driver in California to operate tractor-trailers across diverse routes while complying with FMCSA regulations. You will conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and safeguard cargo and equipment.

Responsibilities include safe loading/unloading, adherence to hazardous materials rules, and dependable on-time performance. The role requires a 21+ driver with endorsements and a strong safety record, in a physical, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 21 years of age with at least 1 year of driving experience.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Must be registered with FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• HazMat, Tanker and Doubles endorsements required.
• Able to drive tractor-trailer per FMCSA rules.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Able to operate forklift.
• Able to push/pull heavy pallets.
• Able to meet FMCSA English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely to perform all safety functions.
• Drive tractor-trailer in compliance with FMCSA and local laws.
• Maintain required records under local, state and federal regulations.
• Comply with hazardous materials transportation requirements.
• Ensure security of equipment and cargo.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections before and after trips.
• Promptly report maintenance issues to Fleet Services or supervision.
• Support dock operations including loading/unloading freight as needed.
• Attend to safety and attendance requirements and meet deadlines.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks; ensure legal work status.
