Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking Local P&D or City Drivers to operate tractor-trailer combinations between service centers and customer facilities within the geographic area.

You will sort, handle, load and unload freight at company and customer locations. Responsibilities include safe operation under DOT regulations, meeting medical and drug/alcohol testing standards, loading freight with various equipment, and ensuring timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must possess a valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements.
• 12 months tractor-trailer driving experience or completion of an approved driver training program.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle safely within DOT regulations and hours of service.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment.
• Read shipping labels and complete freight movement forms.
• Secure freight inside trailers and inspect for quality loading.
• Meet customer pickup and delivery schedules.
