Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Local P&D or City Driver to move freight between service centers and customer locations. You will help ensure timely, safe deliveries and comply with DOT regulations.

The role offers an average annual pay of $81,000 and eligibility for OD's Tuition Reimbursement Program for new graduates of approved trucking schools. Responsibilities include operating tractors-trailers, loading/unloading, securing freight, and maintaining logs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak English and perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Must possess a valid Class A CDL with double/triple trailers, tanker, and hazardous material endorsements.
• Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Must have 12 months previous tractor-trailer driving experience and/or completion of approved training program.
• Must be at least 22 years of age.

Responsabilités

• Operate vehicle safely within DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection, maintenance, and hazmat.
• Meet or exceed medical standards of the U.S. DOT and pass drug and alcohol tests.
• Load/unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks or manually per DOT guidelines.
• Transport freight between service centers and customer locations.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and forms used in freight movement.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and restraints.
• Be available to meet customer pickup and delivery schedules.
