Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is hiring Local P&D or City Drivers to move freight between service centers and customer locations. You will sort, load, and unload shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with DOT regulations.

Requirements include a valid CDL A, clean MVR, ability to pass drug/alcohol tests, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Benefits include tuition reimbursement, health coverage, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English and perform basic math.
• CDL Class A with required endorsements.
• Valid MR/DMV record and proper driving qualifications.
• Experience in tractor-trailer operation preferred.
• Able to operate tablets and communicate via radio.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer safely per DOT regulations.
• Meet DOT medical and drug/alcohol testing requirements.
• Load/unload freight, secure cargo and inspect trailers.
• Communicate with service centers and customers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Follow shipping papers and manifests accurately.
• Assist in maintaining safe, clean equipment and facilities.
