Job summary

Salt City Trucking is hiring a Local CDL-A Intermodal Driver in the Columbus, OH area. Drive locally with daily home time, no-touch freight, and about 3 loads per day across Lockbourne, Toledo, and Cincinnati. Expect intermodal container freight with a mix of preloaded, drop-and-hook, live load and unload.

Requires valid CDL-A, at least 3 months of tractor-trailer experience, and ability to read and speak English well. DOT Clearinghouse compliance and winter driving readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
• Able to read and speak English sufficiently for driving and documentation.
• DOT Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Operate local intermodal routes with home daily schedule.
• Handle intermodal container freight with a mix of preloaded, drop-and-hook, live-load, and live-unload tasks.
• Move freight across markets within Lockbourne, Toledo, and Cincinnati as assigned.
• Maintain safe driving practices in winter conditions.

Local CDL-A Intermodal Driver – Good Pay | Home Daily

Join a dedicated intermodal operation in the Columbus area offering daily home time, no-touch freight, and consistent routes. Drivers handle approximately 3 loads per day, with a mix of preloaded, drop-and-hook, live-load, and live unload freight.

Pay Details

• $1,100-$1,400 weekly pay
• $0.61 per mile
• Additional $40 for loaded miles under 99 miles
• $40 per revenue load
• Paid weekly

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
• Must be at least 22 years old
• No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years, subject to restrictions
• No more than 1 DOT-recordable preventable accident in the past 3 years
• Must meet DOT Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements
• Must be willing to cover assigned markets as required
• Must be comfortable driving in winter weather
• Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently for driving, communication, and required documentation
• Additional qualifications may apply
