Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Loan Processor for a direct hire opportunity with a banking team in Summerville, SC. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented lending professional with prior loan processing experience in a bank who can manage consumer and/or commercial loan files from application through closing.

This Loan Processor position offers the opportunity to work in a flexible, independent environment with a hands-off management style. The right candidate will enjoy taking ownership of their work, partnering with lenders and borrowers, and keeping loan files moving accurately and efficiently. This is a strong fit for someone who values autonomy, accountability, and the ability to support a collaborative lending team in a community or regional banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and manage consumer and/or commercial loan files accurately from application through closing.
• Review loan applications, financial documentation, and supporting materials for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate with lenders, borrowers, and internal teams to obtain required documentation and resolve outstanding items.
• Monitor loan files to ensure timely processing and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Maintain organized loan records and ensure proper documentation throughout the lending process.
• Support the broader lending team with additional responsibilities as needed in a flexible banking environment.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $50,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Job type: Direct hire, full-time.
• Location: Summerville, SC.
• Remote work may be available for exceptionally qualified candidates, including candidates outside the Charleston area.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Process and manage consumer and/or commercial loan files.
• Review loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate documentation and file status with lenders, borrowers, and other parties.
• Maintain organized loan records while meeting processing deadlines.
• Prior loan processing experience within a bank is required.
• Experience with consumer lending and/or commercial lending is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative in a less structured work environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and follow-through.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for a smaller community bank or regional banking institution.
• Versatile lending background with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities across the loan process.
• Comfortable working in an environment that values independence, accountability, and proactive communication.
• Prior experience in a broad loan processing role rather than a highly specialized lending function.
