Job summary

Valley National Bank seeks a Lending Specialist to ensure smooth loan processing from approval through closing. You will organize documentation, liaise with borrowers and lenders, and maintain quality customer relationships.

The role focuses on coordinating deal flow, closing documentation, and ongoing loan activity, with emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance. Full-time position in New Jersey with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong PC skills with Microsoft Office and Bank’s core system including nCino.
• Excellent customer service, organization, data entry, time management and multitasking in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison and primary contact with internal and external customers from approval to deal closing.
• Manage deal flow with Relationship Managers and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely closings.
• Coordinate and review closing documentation for due diligence, insurance, feasibility, execution and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with transaction flow, escalate issues and design controls to protect the process.
• Partner with operations teams to ensure proper booking, reconciliations and daily cash positions.
• Ensure proper funding at close and ongoing life-of-loan activity is processed and booked.
• Review loan documents for closing and close loans when needed.
• Communicate any issues to Lenders prior to closing.
