Job summary

First Bankers Trust Company seeks a detail‑oriented Loan Operations Specialist II to join our team. You will execute back‑office loan processing, review documents, and coordinate with consumer and commercial bankers to move loans toward closing.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and administer consumer and commercial loan documents and applications.
  • Process loan disbursements and payments; maintain accurate loan records.
  • Answer customer inquiries by phone and in person; resolve problems.
  • Assist with training other staff and support lending officers in disbursement activities.

This position will also periodically complete loan processing for Residential and Buck Land Funding loans. This position works closely with the bank’s consumer and commercial Bankers in the execution of work activities and improvement initiatives.Prepares, reviews, processes and administers consumer and commercial loans, and, as needed, assists with Residential and Buck Land Funding loan processing activities, along with all related documents, files and disbursements for the various types of loansFollows proper accounting procedures for booking loan transactionsCollects and verifies applicant's personal information and financial records for the loanPrepares credit reports and ensures sufficient loan collateralCalculates loan items and charges such as interest and paymentsRecords new loans, processes loan payments, and maintains loan recordsEstablishes, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and/or other documents pertaining to the financial transaction recordsGathers and prepares loan documents to be passed at the closing of the loanAnswers customer inquiries by phone and in person and resolves problemsAssists lending officers in activities such as disbursement of funds and extension of new loansPrepares and distributes notices and loan reportsAssists with training other staff members as requestedPerforms other duties and projects as assigned and requestedAssociate's degree or equivalent experience2 to 4 years of related experience/exposure within the banking industry preferredDemonstrates aptitude for mathematical and/or financial transactionsDemonstrates ability to execute work under general supervisionDemonstrates strong customer service skills (customer-oriented)Demonstrates ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multi-task daily job dutiesDemonstrates ability to address moderately complex job related/technical issues and problems with guidance, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staffDemonstrates strong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrates strong team collaboration/teamwork skills, with ability to work in diverse teams and build/maintain positive working relationshipsDemonstrates ability to interact efficiently with Technology and utilize common office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications; willingness to learn new technologiesDemonstrates troubleshooting and problems solving skillsOur values reflect our culture: Everyone is Valued, Do The Right Thing, Friendly Family, & Fun, Dream Big/Act Small, Accountability, InnovationWhen you choose to become a part of the team at First Bankers, you are getting more than a job.
