Job summary

Fairway Home Mortgage is seeking a Loan Officer Assistant for an in-office role in West Saint Paul, MN. You will support loan officers, manage documentation, and assist with marketing and branch outreach to boost local visibility.

You will work with customers, real estate professionals, and internal teams to ensure loan files progress toward closing with accuracy and speed. Prior mortgage exposure and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related mortgage lending or sales experience.
• Knowledge of mortgage lending processes, procedures, and regulations.
• Knowledge of Encompass or a similar loan origination system.
• Knowledge of loan programs including Conventional, FHA, USDA, and VA.
• Familiar with mortgage terminology (escrow, taxes, insurance, closing documents).
• Experience with marketing and social media is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare loan packages by collecting required documentation from customers.
• Review loan files for completeness and accuracy and follow up on missing information.
• Assist with escrow accounts, appraisals, and insurance requirements.
• Pre-qualify customers using automated underwriting systems (AUS).
• Coordinate with processors and other parties to facilitate closings.
