Job summary

Role Description

This is a full-time, remote role for a Loan Officer at NFM Lending. The Loan Officer will guide borrowers through the mortgage process, from initial inquiry to closing, providing clear information about loan options, rates, and terms. Responsibilities include originating and processing residential mortgage applications, collecting and reviewing documentation, and collaborating with underwriting and processing teams to ensure accurate and timely approvals. The role includes evaluating borrower eligibility, addressing questions and concerns, and maintaining high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance. The Loan Officer will also cultivate and manage relationships with clients, real estate professionals, and referral partners to support business growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in loan origination and working as a Loan Officer, with a strong understanding of mortgage products and lending guidelines.
• Solid background in finance, including the ability to analyze income, credit, and collateral to determine loan suitability.
• Familiarity with underwriting principles and processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on clear communication, responsiveness, and relationship building.
• Knowledge of the end-to-end loan origination process, including documentation, compliance requirements, and closing procedures.
• Effective time management, attention to detail, and comfort working independently in a remote environment.
• Proficiency with loan origination systems, CRM tools, and standard office software; ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Relevant state licensing and registration, including NMLS registration, as required; prior mortgage lending experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is beneficial.
