Job summary

First Northern Bank is seeking a Loan Documentation Specialist to prepare and process loan documents, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and support collateral perfection.

You will partner with lending teams to coordinate pre-closing and closing activities, manage signatures, document execution, and communication with internal partners and external counsel.

Experience with LaserPro and knowledge of lien perfection, title and escrow processes preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in loan documentation or lending environments.
• 1+ year within the financial services industry.
• Strong understanding of loan documentation types and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to review legal and financial documents accurately.
• Working knowledge of LaserPro and collateral verification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare standard loan documentation using designated systems in accordance with approved loan terms.
• Review credit approvals and support documentation for accuracy and due diligence.
• Coordinate loan closings, manage signature collection and document execution.
• Order and track third-party reports (flood certifications, title, insurance, entity docs).
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to lenders' inquiries and clear outstanding conditions.
• Support post-closing exception resolution and document tracking for audit readiness.
• Maintain and index loan files; research/document issues as needed.
• Identify and escalate potential documentation risks, including lien perfection.
