Job summary

Foothills Bank in Reno, NV is seeking a Loan Assistant - Team Lead to support Commercial Loan Officers in the loan origination and renewal process, primarily during the pre-approval stage. You will contact applicants, resolve issues, and ensure timely documentation while supervising a team of loan assistants and coordinating with branch staff.

The role requires strong organizational skills, customer service focus, and familiarity with loan processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 5+ years of experience in commercial and consumer loan policies and procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of banking policies and procedures.
• Ability to multi-task and handle complex tasks efficiently.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work within strict timeframes and meet deadlines.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Indirectly supervise the Loan Assistants and back up duties as needed.
• Coordinate with Sr. Commercial Loan Officer – Team Lead Production to manage workflow and loan pipeline.
• Communicate with Commercial Loan Officers for feedback on responsiveness.
• Review loan assistant assignments and verify task completion.
• Follow up with loan applications and obtain missing documents.
• Assist with LO committee minutes and loan approvals; administrative tasks.
• Input loan data into the loan system and coordinate transmittal instructions in nCino.
• Coordinate CIF generation with branch teams.
• Review entity and trust documents for signers/guarantors.
• Coordinate and order third party reports (Appraisals, Environmental Reports, UCC, Flood Searches, Preliminary Title).
• Request insurance certificates including flood insurance as needed.
• Review loan codes and compliance items through qualification to approval; complete Smart Checklist items.
• Track Reg B timelines and Notices of Incomplete; coordinate with officers for timely completion.
• Review file completion before processing; assist with FedEx of documents.
• Notary services for loan documents (if notary).
• Post-closing follow-up with borrowers; update status in nCino with Loan Support Team Lead.
• Assign files to Loan Assistants by complexity and workload.
• Back up loan operations during heavy workload times and assist with doc preparation as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• This is an on-site position with essential attendance.
