Job summary

The Bank N.A. is seeking a detail-oriented Loan Assistant to support the Market President and Lending Team in a community banking environment.

This role emphasizes accurate loan documentation, regulatory compliance, and delivering excellent client service. Responsibilities include processing loan applications, collecting financial information, coordinating closings, maintaining files, and communicating status updates to clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of lending assistance experience.
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in finance or related field preferred.
Strong knowledge of loan processing procedures and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking software.
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Discretion in handling confidential financial and customer information.

Responsibilities

Assist with completing loan applications and ensuring accuracy and completeness of all required documentation.
Assist in collecting and verifying financial information from borrowers.
Work closely with loan officers to maintain loan files and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Coordinate loan closings, including scheduling and preparation of required closing documents.
Ensure all loan files are properly documented and uploaded into the bank’s loan processing system.
Act as a liaison between borrowers, loan officers, loan operations, and other departments to facilitate smooth loan transactions.
Provide timely updates to clients regarding loan status, outstanding requirements, and next steps.
Respond to customer inquiries professionally and efficiently, delivering a high level of service.
Maintain organized loan files and support pipeline management with deadlines and renewals.
Assist with preparing reports for management, audits, and regulatory compliance.
