Community Outreach Officer, Assistant Vice President

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

This position requires that you have effective teamwork and communication skills and use them in a high paced, high volume environment.Specific duties include:

• Provide administrative support in the collection, preparation and completion (insuring compliance) of a loan application and collection of initial documentation.

• Take loan application from customers when loan officer is not available.

• Assist with collecting required financial documentation required under the Loan Policy for underwriting of the loan request.

• Assist with pulling of credit report and initial draft of credit memo. Prepare credit package for submission to Loan Committee.

• Review adverse action files prior to submission to the Compliance Officer for second review.

• Submit credit approval and all supporting documentation to the Loan Processing Dept. for final phase of processing and loan closing document preparation.

• Request flood determinations from 3rd party and request insurance policies from customers, including verifying sufficient coverage on collateral.

• Order appraisals and title work.

• Prepare the Early Docs and ensure they are signed and dated correctly prior to the loan closing.

• Obtain and ensure that we have proof of insurance, payoffs and other required information at least 4 days prior to the loan closing so the CD can be issued and sent to the borrower.

• Fund in house loan closings. This does not include writing the loan tickets. This only if there are payoff checks that needs to me mailed.

• Ensure that the GMI HMDA info is completed and correct. This info is done with the loan application is completed.

• Setup the loan folder on the shared drive

• Obtain remaining or uncollected loan documents after loan closing.

• Assist loan officer(s) in monitoring and managing loan pipeline to ensure timely closings.

• Review and work loan exception reports.

• Assist the loan officer(s) in managing the portfolio by requesting/gathering information (i.e. annual financials).

• This position may require loan assistant to act as a Mortgage Loan Originator (“MLO”) which is defined as an individual who takes loan applications, and/or offers or negotiates the terms of a loan for compensation or gain. All MLO’s are required to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (“NMLS”), obtain a unique identifier, and annually renew the registration, as defined by the S.A.F.E. Act requirement.

• Maintain a current knowledge of commercial, mortgage and consumer lending laws and regulations and adheres to all state and federal laws and regulations.

• Comply with all bank policies and procedures.

• Meet customer service standards as outlined by management by providing assistance in a friendly and professional manner to customers, internal staff, external agencies/staff including, but not limited to, title companies, attorneys or other agencies participating in the loan process.

• Promote The Bank’s products and services.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Must continue to expand knowledge of issues influencing the industry and the organization.

• Must be organized and detailed-oriented and possess ability to prioritize workload based on loan volume.

• Must maintain a high degree of accuracy.

• Must maintain confidentiality of borrower and/or company information.

• Excellent and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Self-starter; ability to work independently
