Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced collections agent to manage delinquent loan accounts in Riverside, CA, with onsite work. You will collect on loans at all delinquency stages, identify hardship causes with Members, and propose personalized payment options.

You will conduct inbound and outbound calls, document all interactions in the collection systems, and ensure compliance with FDCPA, TCPA, SCRA, BSA, and Credit Union policies. Prior experience and strong negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of prior related experience required.
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy laws, FDCPA, TCPA and SCRA.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Uses active listening skills to determine the Member's hardship and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Intermediate computer and typing skills.
  • Experience with inbound/outbound phone system preferred.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Must comply with regulatory compliance and training requirements including BSA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Collect on loans of all stages of delinquency where timely payments are not being received.
  • Communicate with Members to identify the true cause of non-payment and provide personalized options.
  • Conduct inbound/outbound calling, send letters, and use other approved collection methods.
  • Collect past-due payments and negotiate payment arrangements or repayment plans.
  • Document conversations and collections activity in collection systems.
  • Maintain adherence to federal and state regulations and Credit Union policies.
  • Process loan adjustments, including due date changes, opening/closing lines of credit, closing negative accounts, and payment plan maintenance.
  • Recommend delinquent Members for workout loans, deferments, re-ages, reduced payments, repossession, and charge-off.
  • Refer complex situations to appropriate resources.
  • Suggest ways to streamline departmental and Credit Union operations.
  • Complete assigned departmental projects and reports.
  • Perform advanced account research and analysis, skip tracing, and asset searches.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with regulatory compliance and training requirements, including BSA regulations.

Job description
