Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Loading, Shipping and Receiving Associate (1st Shift). This full-time role runs 7:30 AM–4:00 PM with overtime as needed and involves forklift operation, packing, and accurate inventory handling.

You will follow safety rules, maintain quality standards, and support continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver license, 1+ year of manufacturing experience, and basic computer

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic computer skills and a good work ethic are required.
• Forklift experience preferred; must be trainable on forklift.
• Crane experience a plus; must be trainable on crane.
• Must be flexible with overtime and weekends as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly.
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment is expected.
• Valid Driver License required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules in a manufacturing environment.
• Crate and package parts using crating materials to protect during transport.
• Operate forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Monitor trailer loads and check actual vs maximum allowable load.
• Assist with inventory counts as required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the work area.
• Inspect work visually for defects per Quality Systems.
• Provide cost-saving ideas to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Read, write, and follow posted schedules.
• May be assigned other tasks by team leader.

JOB DETAILS

Base pay rate is $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

1st Shift Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, hours may vary depending on operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands and follows safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Employs a range of crating and packaging resources, including metal bands and protective coverings, to ensure parts are securely fastened and safeguarded during transport.
• Proficient in operating forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Responsible for each lift, deciding when to check actual vs maximum allowable trailer load.
• Assists with inventory counts as required
• Maintains practices for continuous improvement within the work area.
• Inspect work visually for defects according to Quality Systems
• Provide cost-saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate waste
• Willing/able to work overtime
• Ability read, write, and follow posted schedules
• May be assigned other projects or tasks by the team leader

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid Driver License
• A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment
• Good Communication Skills
• Basic Computer Skills
• Forklift experience a plus / Must be trainable on forklift
• Crane experience a plus / Must be trainable on crane
• Flexible with working overtime and weekends when needed
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment
