Job summary

Chief Industries, Chief Buildings in Grand Island, Nebraska, is seeking a warehouse/production associate to inspect, label, and prepare finished products for shipment while upholding safety and organization.

The role involves loading/unloading trailers, operating forklifts and cranes, documenting loads, and collaborating with teammates to meet tight deadlines. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with training provided for required equipment.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of hand tools (tape measures, calculators).
• Solid math skills, including working with decimals and fractions.
• Effective communication and a commitment to safety.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
• Proficient in operating computers, forklifts, and overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

• Carries out safety-focused duties and maintains a clean, organized workspace.
• Assists in loading and unloading from trailers at heights up to 14 feet with fall protection.
• Safely pulling and backing trailers into bays using a shag truck; training provided.
• Uses a digital camera to document each completed load for customer files.
• Capable of using nail guns, crowbars, and hammers.
• Interprets fabrication drawings to calculate weights and determine lifting methods.
• Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment as required.
• Works independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
