Job summary

Allan Myers, Inc. is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator to join our on-site team in the field of heavy civil construction. This non-exempt role operates backhoes, pavers, dozers, scrapers, pans and graders, performing paving, excavating, and groundwork while maintaining safety and equipment.

Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of equipment operating experience, a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Must have solid hand-eye coordination for precise gear control.
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
• Communicate clearly and work well in a team setting.
• Good near/far/ peripheral vision for site safety and operations.
• Minimum 2 years of equipment operating experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable work history are required.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy construction equipment including backhoes, pavers, dozers, scrapers, pans and graders.
• Performs safe operation, routine maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
• Discusses plans with field manager and follows blueprints for safe on-time work.
• Adjusts levers and pedals to control attachments and achieve precise grading.
• Maintains equipment and performs cleaning, greasing, and routine servicing.
• Ensures safety of nearby workers and fosters teamwork on-site.
• Judges the most efficient operation methods while complying with policies.
• Adheres to equipment safety standards and company safety programs.
