Job summary

Allan Myers Inc. is seeking a skilled equipment operator to run heavy construction machinery on our projects in the mid-Atlantic region.

You will work with field managers to plan daily tasks, operate multiple attachments, and perform routine maintenance to keep equipment in top condition. The role requires at least 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have very good hand, foot and eye coordination to safely operate equipment.
• Must be able to operate for extended periods and in awkward positions during maintenance.
• Requires extensive physical activity and dexterity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy construction equipment such as backhoes, pavers, dozers, scrapers, pans and graders safely and efficiently.
• Discusses plans for the day with field manager and reviews blueprints as needed.
• Adjusts levers and pedals to operate attachments and control equipment.
• Performs equipment maintenance such as cleaning, greasing and oiling.
• Ensures job safety and teamwork on site, keeping others clear of machinery.
