Job summary

Ritchie Bros. is seeking a Loader Operator I to join our Yard Operations team in Lorain, Ohio. You will operate heavy equipment and trucks, set up equipment for auctions, and assist customers during and after auctions.

You will work with a hardworking team, follow safety protocols, and help with vehicle check-in tasks as needed. A strong work ethic, safety focus, and good English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy machinery.
• Able to operate a large 36,000-lb forklift is an asset.
• Good spoken and written English is required.
• Good computer skills and ability to learn new programs quickly.
• Track-record of working safely and helping others work safely.
• Ability to relate well with customers and team members.
• Enjoy working in a team, helping out wherever needed, and also able to self-start and work independently.
• Organized and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• High level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate all types of heavy equipment and trucks.
• Help set up equipment in the yard for auctions.
• Assist customers with loading their equipment purchases and answer their questions related to the yard.
• Support RB’s Unreserved Commitment to Safety by taking personal responsibility for safety of yourself, your team, co-workers, and customers.
• Learn and assist with vehicle check-in tasks as needed.
• Support and assist with Yard Staff responsibilities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
