Job summary

TMS International seeks a Loader to join our on-site team in Texas. The role involves operating wheel loaders, including Caterpillar or Komatsu, and performing daily pre-operation checks.

You will work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends, handling hot materials safely and maintaining equipment per safety standards. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, proper documentation, clear on-site radio communication, and immediate reporting of any safety issues or equipment

Qualifications

• Experience operating Caterpillar or Komatsu wheel loaders.
• Willingness to rotate 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends.
• Ability to safely handle hot materials such as slag and steel.
• Perform proper preoperational inspections and document findings.
• Maintain and assist with routine equipment maintenance (cleaning, washing, greasing).
• Maintain clear radio and on-site communication with teammates.
• Ensure equipment is safe and ready for daily use.
• Immediately report any unsafe conditions or equipment damage to supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate wheel loaders (Caterpillar/Komatsu) per job needs.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends.
• Handle hot materials safely (slag/steel).
• Conduct preoperational inspections and document results.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic cleaning/greasing as directed.
• Communicate clearly with team via radio; coordinate with coworkers.
• Keep equipment ready and safe for daily operations.
• Report any safety issues or equipment damage to supervision promptly.
