Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a forklift operator to safely manage yard and loading activities. You will operate a sit-down forklift, read pick lists, and coordinate with drivers to ensure accurate, safe loading and unloading of materials.

The role requires outdoor work, ability to pass a forklift certification, and comfort with overtime and weekends. Applicants must lift up to 76 lbs and work in a rail-enabled environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a forklift certification class and test.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to read a pick list.
  • Must be able to work overtime, including weekends.
  • Must be able to pass a fit-for-duty physical.
  • Must be able to lift up to 76 lbs unassisted.
  • Must be willing to operate Track Mobile in a rail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a sit-down forklift and maintain certification.
  • Work outdoors and in varied weather conditions.
  • Communicate with drivers to ensure load accuracy and safety.
  • Identify material locations from the pick list in yard or warehouse.
  • Determine stacking requirements (double vs single) in yard.
  • Use yard maps to locate products and guide trucks for loading/unloading.

Job Description Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Ability to safely operate a sit down forklift while maintaining a valid forklift certification
  • Must be comfortable working outside in the elements
  • Communicate with drivers to ensure the accuracy of the load as well as safety requirements for loading/unloading materials
  • Ability to think on your feet in identifying from the pick list where the material is located either in the yard or warehouse
  • Identifying what needs to be double stacked in the yard versus single stacked
  • Identify where to double stack the material
  • Utilize the chart of the North and South yard as a map/guide
  • Identify where product is located in the yard by utilizing the identifying signs
  • Guide the truck drivers where they need to go in order to be safely loaded/unloaded
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be legally authorization to work in U.S.
  • Must be able to pass a forklift certification class and test. Must have a minimum of 1 year sit down forklift experience.
  • Must be able to read a pick list
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary, which could include weekends
  • Must be able to pass a fit for duty Physical
  • Must be able to lift up to 76 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be willing to operate Track Mobile (Locomotive) and be willing to operate in a rail environment.
